Filotea, located in the heart of Marche region produces pasta according to local traditons. Filotea - the name is Greek Origin meaning "God's Friend" The traditional Spaghettoni is thicker and wider than spaghetti, and characterized by its long, round shape, said to originate from the South of Italy, is made with bronze dyes to ensure a perfect absorption of the sauces. Robust and hearty, ideal for meat dishes. The artisanal nature of this pasta does not allow to define a unique cooking time. It is important to immerse each package of pasta in at least 10 liters of boiling water and check the cooking until it reaches the preferred texture.
Serving Suggestions
Spaghettoni’s thick strands make it ideal for meat-based dishes and hearty game sauces. The pasta’s name comes from the Italian word Spago, which means “thread” or “string”. Mostly paired with marinara sauce and the occassional meatball, or classic cabonara recipe.
