A specialty appreciated since anciet times by Arabs, Phoenicians and Carthaginians, Egyptians and Romans. It can be used in simple recipes. Serving Suggestions
Tasty Bottarga, the Caviar of the Mediterranean- a delicacy the world over can be used in simple recipes, on pasta dishes with seasoned breadcrumbs or on bread croutons with butter. Grated over pasta, such as Aglio e olio or Pasta al limone, or a dressing for the humble boiled egg, whether hard or soft-boiled. A fine addition to scrambled eggs, and tasty with a plain bowl of steamed rice, or as a topping for Tamago Kaki Gohan. In fried rice, as a substitute for dried grated scallops – found in a Cantonese banquet hall. Avoid cooking, gently warmed, put on mashed potatoes, or grate over boild asparagus, or on top of beef tartare – Ocean’s the limit.
