Peia – Whole Mullet Bottarga – 3.53 oz
The Bottarga, Cured Grey Mullet Roe, also known as the Caviar of the Mediterranean, is one of the greatest Sardinian products of the Italian culinary tradition. Bottargas are salted and pressed fish roe kept for three to four months in a dark and ventilated room until settled and ready for use.
Excellent to eat with vegetables, grated over almost any starch or grain, or just on its own. Slice it paper thin and season with a little salt or soy sauce, a squeeze of lemon, and a slick of flavorful oil.
